| The average client lives in a 3rd story walk-up apartment. They have health problems or very young kids and move frequently. When considering if a donation is right for a low-income client, consider if it can be lifted by an average woman up 3 flights of stairs and through narrow hallways. Large entertainment center for instance are not very welcome but small dinette sets and couches are very welcome. |

Please help us to keep expensive waste removal costs down by only donating basic furniture, kitchen, bed, bath and baby items. Fancy and decortive items are better donated to a thrift store to be sold. Our clients just need the basics. Your goods are probably worth money to someone. Go ahead and sell your fancy stuff- guilt free!
We always need pots and pans, bath towels, cribs and mattresses but to find out what is needed urgently this week, join our Wish Tree to the weekly e-newsletters. We do not share this list with anyone and you can remove your email at any time.
The gift is in the giving:
- Label it by size and it goes out faster - You know your sheet sizes and clothing sizes better than we do. Sheets are very hard to size, please label sheet sets with twin, full or queen
- Clean it - Clients have less resources than most of us to clean items. We do not have the staff or resources to clean furniture and it is expensive for us to pay for disposal. Most clients do not have washers/dryers or any access or knowledge of steam cleaners. The gift is in the giving, please donate it clean.
- Repair it - broken items just get discarded and we have to pay for trash removal. It is unsafe to give broken items out and we have no resources for repairs at this time.
- Same season only - Please donate only winter clothes in winter. Heaters are needed in December but please hold onto your AC donation for June, thanks.
- Break it down for car transport Cribs, changing tables etc. will be picked up by caseworkers in small cars so please break them down and securely attach any hardware or instructions

WE DO NOT PICKUP FROM HOMES, sorry but we just do not have the resources to do home pickups. Please help us to keep our overhead down by delivering goods to us.

If you have a large donation and require other hours, just contact us. We appreciate your dropping off and can work with you to accomodate your schedule for large furniture.
